Creative Maths started producing high quality video and other resources in 2011 and has been helping students learn statistics all over the world ever since.

Dr Nic's Maths and Stats YouTube channel has over 100, 000 subscribers and provides high quality educational videos.

Over the years material has been produced as "Statistics Learning Centre", "Creative Maths" and "Dr Nic's Maths and Stats". All of these were produced by Dr Nic Petty and Dr Shane Dye.

From 2024 Dr Nic is the sole director of Creative Maths.

Dr Nic Petty is an expert in teaching and learning statistics and operations research. She spent the past 35 years developing online and physical learning resources for primary, secondary and university students. Nic is a qualified high school mathematics teacher with additional experience teaching innovative primary school mathematics lessons, currently teaching mathematics and statistics at Greymouth High School on the West Coast of Aotearoa New Zealand. She has 20 years experience teaching statistics and operations research in innovative ways at the University of Canterbury. This work earned her a university teaching award.

Nicola wrote and developed the 50+ Statistics Learning Centre videos for learning statistics and using mathematics and statistics resources for teaching.
